Vodafone UK announced today it has won 'The European Unified Communications Solution of the Year' title at this year's European IT Excellence Awards, held in London late last week.

Vodafone was presented with the award for its unified communications solution for Carole Nash Insurance. By radically overhauling the motorcycle insurance specialists' call centre operations, Vodafone's solution has improved customer service, productivity and efficiency. As a result, Carole Nash has seen a 50% increase in outbound calls to support marketing efforts and a 57% increase in first time call resolution.

When congratulating Vodafone, John Chapman, a member of the judging panel and Editorial Director at organisers IT Europa said: "Vodafone's entry particularly impressed the judges because the Carole Nash solution was delivered on time, below budget and provided Carole Nash Insurance such incredible savings and productivity gains. It was great to see the dedication to excellence that was shown by Vodafone’s project management team. This solution showed what is achievable when you combine quality products with strong design and implementation skills."

This latest accolade follows Vodafone's win at the Comms National Awards late last year, where it scooped the Contact Centre Solution of the Year title for the Carole Nash contact centre solution.

About the European IT Excellence Awards

The European IT Excellence Awards are the first pan-European awards which recognise the crucial role that Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) and Solution Providers play in the delivery of real world solutions, and attracted entries from 26 countries. Entries were submitted by ISVs and resellers describing the solution provided and each had to be supported by an endorsement by the client. 51 companies from 16 countries made the finals.
