Central Gain ISO/27001 Accreditation
Central Telecom a leading European systems integrator of business communications applications, systems and services, has been awarded ISO/27001 certification for information security from BSI Management Systems.
The ISO 27001 certification for information security confirms Central Telecom's compliance with the requirements of the international standard and endorses its strong capabilities in the field of information security.
Central Telecom's Managing Director, Andrew McDougall explains "Receiving the ISO/27001 certification is an endorsement of our corporate culture and attitude to the physical and information security of our customers and staff. We are the only UK Communication Group to be awarded ISO/27001 and we are already experiencing the commercial benefits that this standard can bring to an organisation."
Graham Gittus, Central Telecom's Information Security Manager said: "Central is delighted to have achieved registration to this world class quality management system."
Graham continued: "I have spent the last 12 months, along with Central's Management Review Board, auditing Central's policies, procedures and business processes. This involved writing and documenting our procedures and instigating secure operational strategies throughout the organisation. The successful registration can be attributed to Central's personnel who worked very hard to integrate the systems into their everyday work".
Central Telecom was assisted in their registration process by Integralis Europe's Leading Security Systems Integrator and the Trusted Security Partner for over 50% of the FTSE 100.
Richard Jones, Integralis Consultant for Central commented: "The commitment of Central's management team and staff to their business processes and procedures ensured that the BSI Information Security audit was a success. Receiving this standard is major achievement and Central should be congratulated on seeking independent, third-party verification of their information security management systems."
Andrew Connett from BSI, added: "Over 3,500 organisations worldwide have been certified against ISO 27001 and its predecessor BS 7799. Central Telecom has demonstrated great leadership by implementing and certifying to ISO/27001 and we expect other successful organisations to follow their example."
